SOUTH SUBURBAN CONFERENCE
About the Conference
The South Suburban Conference (SSC) is a Minnesota high school activities conference comprised of ten comprehensive public high schools primarily located south and west of the Minnesota River. Member schools are committed to providing broad, high-quality opportunities in athletics, fine arts, and academics that support the overall educational mission of each school.
The South Suburban Conference was formed in 2009, with official competition beginning on July 1, 2010. The conference originated when nine schools departed the Lake Conference and were joined by Prior Lake High School from the Missota Conference. In 2014, Farmington High School and Shakopee High School joined the SSC following the dissolution of the Missota Conference, while Bloomington Jefferson and Bloomington Kennedy transitioned to the Metro West Conference.
Today, the South Suburban Conference is recognized as one of the premier high school conferences in the state of Minnesota. Member schools collectively sponsor a full complement of interscholastic opportunities, including more than 30 athletic programs and 14 Fine Arts activities.
