Back to School 2022-2023

We look forward to connecting with students and families this evening. Whether this is your first student to attend AVHS or your 5th, this is a great opportunity to walk your student’s schedule, meet their teachers, and learn more about how to get involved in our school community.

Teachers will be available to greet and assist parents/guardians in understanding how to partner together and help students succeed in the classroom. Administrators and other staff members will be available to answer questions and provide support related to technology, Infinite Campus, Schoology, lunch accounts, and understanding the various resources and support available at AVHS.

This event is for AVHS parents and guardians of ALL grade levels. Students will have the opportunity to go through a modified schedule on the first day of school (Wednesday, August 31st) but are also welcome to come with their families to the Back to School Night.

To allow for a more personalized experience and to cut down on congestion, families with the last names A-K are requested to attend from 6 pm to 7 pm and those with the last names L-Z attend from 7 pm to 8 pm. Please know that if this preferred time does not work for your family, you are welcome to come when you can.

All Apple Valley High School families are encouraged to apply for the Educational Benefits Program (formerly known as the Free and Reduced-Price Meals Program) for the upcoming school year. These funds directly affect our ability to hire additional teachers, family support workers, tutors, and other classroom resources for our students. Families who qualify also benefit by receiving discounts or waived fees for...

• participating on AVHS athletic teams, arts and activities

• applying to colleges

• costs associated with participating in graduation

• academic tests (ACT, SAT, and Advanced Placement/AP)

• Community Education classes and programs

Families must apply for Educational Benefits qualification every year.

As it does every year, District 196 reset all Campus parent accounts, requiring parents/guardians to go through the annual review process of verifying emergency contact and health information. When you access your Campus Portal account, you will be required to complete the annual review process before you can access the information in the portal

Due to continued enrollments, some changes to schedules are made prior to the opening of school.  

9th grade students can find locker information on their class schedule in Campus.  10th - 12th grade students were not automatically assigned a locker.  If you would like to request one, please complete this google form.

Apple Valley High School issues parking permits for each trimester. Fall permits are available on MyPaymentsPlus beginning on Wednesday, August 3rd and cost $60. Payment must be submitted along with the online application. All outstanding fees/fines must be paid in full in order to receive a parking permit; fees/fines may be paid online. Fall permits will be distributed when school begins.
